This series of work explores the ocean & the ocean floor, think aerial views of coral reefs casting shadows, turquoise waters and sun rays.

I have been very interested in Japanese Indigo and the dye techniques for some time and have recently made my own ink using indigo leaf powder. This new series of hand painted originals uses that ink and gouache with traditional techniques of application.

Every design within the 'Opal Sea Collection' series is unique.

Hand embroidery sits delicately on acid free, naturally white 300gsm paper , I have used silk thread French knots.
